My First Doctor's Appointment

Mommy, Daddy and I had our first outing today. We went to visit my pediatrician Dr. Injac this morning. He weighed me and I was 5 pounds, 9 ounces. He told me that I needed to eat a little more. I'll try, but I'm just so sleepy!!

He also pricked my foot to test me for jaundice. Ouch! That hurt, but I didn't cry too much. He said that I needed to have phototherapy to get rid of the biliruben...wait who's that? Sounds like someone to play with. Apparently, biliruben is something bad in my body, so they are going to deliver a biliblanket to my house this afternoon. Daddy says that I have to have these lights because I'm star, but I don't think that I really like these lights. I think that they make me look silly, what do you think?

We Get to Leave the Hospital

Yay! I can't wait to go home and see my new room. Daddy painted my room and already put together my bed but it still needed some of Mommy's help with decorating. While we were waiting to be discharged from the hospital, Popo and Gigi were finishing getting my new room ready ... ok Popo was sleeping on the couch with Uncle Aaron while Gigi was preparing things upstairs.

Daddy was a little worried driving with me in the child seat for the first time but we made it home safely and I got to play with my toys! (More pictures)

Look at My New Family and Friends!

Mommy and Daddy were supposed to go to child birth classes today but I really wanted to meet all of my new family and friends. Now that I'm here, Gigi and Popo came back to visit me with Uncle Allan and Aunt Allison. Also, Amanda and Dorothy stopped by to say hello. Look at all of the pictures that we took when they came to visit me in the hospital.

My First Day

A nice lady from the hospital came by today to take my picture. I was very sleepy but I managed to open my eyes for a few pictures. Mommy dressed me in a pretty dess that we purchased in Burano, Italy where they make things out of lace. Take a look at all of the pictures she took of me when I was only 36 hours old.

Ready or Not, Here I Come!

Yesterday, Mommy and I were at Pappasitto's Mexican Cantina for a happy hour celebrating Mommy's co-worker's promotion. Mommy had just placed a to-go order so we could eat dinner at home with Daddy. He was in Dallas for work and was sitting on the runway waiting to fly home. But that food smelled so good and the party sounded like so much fun, I wanted to join in on the action.

When Mommy was about to leave, her water broke and I was on my way. Mommy's co-workers were so excited and Christina offered us a ride to the hospital. She and Amanda kept Mommy company while Daddy rushed to the hospital. Daddy was sure glad that Gigi and Popo came too, because I think that he was a little scared and didn't know what to do.

At 1:15 am, Mommy's doctor found out that I was breach and 40 minutes later I had arrived. I was born at 1:55am and weighed 6 lbs and 1 oz and was 18 inches long. Gigi and Popo went with me to NICU so that they could check me out. Although I was early, I felt great and the doctors even said that they were amazed at how well I was doing. They only needed to monitor me for 6 hours and then they let me go to Mommy's room. Between Mommy, Daddy, Gigi and Popo I never had to sleep in my crib. It was great!
